When I first started my blog I use to review some of the sub boxes that I subscribed to, but I mainly cancelled most since moving and have not had time to look into getting back into them. I’m considering taking a look soon and seeing what’s out there again and what can work for my new work from how lifestyle.Scent Trunk is a perfume sampling subscription box that sends you niche fragrances every month. When you sign up, you take a scent profile quiz to help them suggest recommendations for you to try. You can also type in other perfume brands that you like to help with their selections. You then can rate the fragrances that you receive to help further tailor your future selections as well as earning reward points that you can redeem for coupons. I usually don’t have a huge arsenal of fragrances that I use on a daily basis so this subscription is nice to get a taste of the high end brands that I generally do not have access to.
Scent Trunk was kind enough to send this box to me for review purposes. I did not receive compensation for this review and all opinions are my own.The cost of the box depends on the length of your subscription. You can pay $18 monthly, $16 for a 6-month subscription, or $15 for a 12-month subscription(shipping is included in the cost). Plus you can choose between a men’s, women’s or unisex box.
I received a woman’s box I believe based on my scent profile. It came in a timely manner in a small bubble mailer. The package contained a small box with the fragrances inside. The contents of the box consists of your 3 curated fragrances in a small velvet bag, a card for each scent that gives details about it, and a main card that talks about the creation of Scent Trunk and how to rate your samples or redeem rewards.
The packaging of the box is great and very cute and I love the in depth details that the cards go into about each fragrance. The first fragrance I tried was the Coconut Sugar by Note Fragrances. At first use the perfume does live up to it’s name and it reminds me of smelling like a coconut snow cone, which I am not sure is what I would exactly be looking to smell like. It becomes less potent during the day to something nicer. The next scent I tried was the How You Love by Jazmin Sarai. This is more my style in that it has more masculine notes and was a little more subtle. I found that it was a great everyday fragrance and would def think about investing in a full size bottle.
The last scent that I tried was the Pavane No.1 by Gwendolyn Mary. This scent was a lot more fresh and spring like. I was also very subtle and I really did like the lingering smell of it throughout the day. It was much more long lasting in my opinion than the last scent. Overall I really enjoyed the the box even though I was not a hundred percent on board with all the scents chosen for me. The cost of the full bottles of the scents that I received ranged from $45 – 95 USD and the sampled themselves held about 2 ml. I think that subscription has pretty good value especially if you do a yearly plan and actually make the effort to earn rewards to use towards full bottle purchases.
